About Yuri
I possess a unique background, being both a Graphic Designer and a Master of traditional Japanese Shodo (calligraphy). Here, I present the worldview I unfold—a fusion of Shodo and design—by bringing these two worlds together.
"When I actually write characters, energy exists within the words, allowing me to feel the emotions of the person who wrote them. While it is often said that the soul resides in spoken words, I believe that the soul resides in the written characters."
And the same is true for graphic art. Graphic design is also a medium that embodies thoughts and messages as visual energy, conveying strong emotions to the receiver. This deep connection to written characters and visual expression is what fuels my passion and dedication.
My activities are structured around three main pillars: Shodo, Graphic Design, and the creation of work that fuses both.
Specifically, I am active in a wide range of graphic fields, including logo design and its deployment across various products, website design, magazine design, and package design.
Furthermore, I utilize the energy of Shodo and my design skills to create an approach that elevates brushwork into digital content. This innovative approach has allowed me to provide my work to global environments where opportunities to experience Shodo are scarce.
While pursuing these new forms of digital expression, I also produce a large number of classical Shodo artworks based on traditional techniques.
